i totally agree with you. i am 13 and i have never watched a full episode of spongebob, mainly because he is so annoying. His voice is so squeaky and the show is stupid.

Well, SpongeBob is intended for the younger set after all. My 3 year old grandson lives and breaths SpongeBob, and even my 6 month old grandson will quit crying if he hears the theme song come on. I don't just rely on TV for their entertainment, but anything that can keep them occupied that well for a little while definitely has my vote! It's better than a lot of other cartoons out there, and I enjoy a lot of the subtle humor that the kids don't understand. SpongeBob ROCKS!

He's so stupid I can't help but laugh. Good character effects as well. The other characters also do well with the stories, except the squirrel. She's just so-so.
I think probably 80% of adults enjoy the Spongebob cartoons, when they have time to see it. The other 20% are just serious prudes that can't find humor in life.

I am not even close to being a kid, and I think Sponge Bob is one of the funniest things on TV. I think it is because they choose very mundane story lines that relate to all the simple problems and fears in our lives that we all universally experience. That is why I think it is funny, because it is so simple and "real". His obsessive-compulsive bent also makes for an uproariously funny approach that I think we can all relate to. Overall, I think the "annoying" aspect is what goes hand in hand with the shows special type of humor.

you don't know many kids do you. If you did, you'd see sponge bob ain't got nothing on those annoying little buggers. Atleast he knows when to stop repeating the joke. Get a kid to do that without yelling.

Because of the subliminal messaging going on. Soon all of the children are going to turn on their parents and live under the sea with Ariel and Atlantis and Flounder and Nemo and Patrick.
