I was born in 1988 so i could not listen then, but right now my favourite artist tha came through the 80's ans still rock's me as he continues his music career is ''the great'' Yngwie Malmsteen..!
There is nothing to say about him, i compare him only with Beethoven, Paganini and Vivaldi. He is a music genious, a talented person, and probably the greatest guitar player ever. His music inspires me and will follow me in my whole life. I wanna thank him for existing and composing with such passion.! Thank u Yngwie...!!!!!

Metallica. Their first four albums were all in the 80's (83, 84, 86 and 88) and there is some brilliant music on them.
Also like, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest (more 70's but did a lot in the 80s too, and still going) In fact most metal from the 80's is awesome.

I regularly rock out to : Depeche Mode, Erasure, Bon Jovi, Poison and a bunch of others! I'm so stuck in the 80s!

X! John, Exene, Billy, and DJ were the best of all the L.A. bands of the late 70's/early 80's and still tour once in a while. When they were on, there was no hotter show in town.

Duran Duran in the early to mid 80s, and Wham (George you broke my heart!!) Guns n Roses in the late 80s (not much of a diversity there eh? lol)
