You are standing on the sidewalk and to your right, you see the manhole cover to the storm drains is slightly ajar. You move in for a closer look and notice that there is a faint green light coming from within. You push the cover aside and taking a deep breath you venture down.
You climb down the vertical tube, rung by rung until you reach the bottom. You notice the horizonal pipe is large enough for you to walk in. You look down the pipe. It is dark but when you look up the tube you see a green glow. No source, just the pipe illuminated with green. You venture toward the light.
What do you find? What is the source of the green, glowing light?

it is a vampire technology. climbing up thru the greenish light charges their bodies with a solar resistant field invisible to mere humans. I know this because I come from a town that's soo small, the MICE are STOOP SHOULDERED! I come from a town that's SOOOO SMALL, when I plug in my electric razor, the TROLLEY STALLS!
