I get so angry about this. There are ads up everywhere these days with people giving away free kittens, especially. The pet overpopulation problem is really really bad.

Why are people so irresponsible? What can be done to make sure everyone gets their pets fixed?

It is a problem, but certainly not the most important problem in the world, to most people. Years ago I was guilty, I guess as my cat had several litters, but we were quite poor at the time, and spaying is not cheap, when compared to the need for other essentials. Now that I have a decent income, all of my pets are fixed one way or the other, except for the fish and hermit crabs.

In our city it is much cheaper to license your spayed or neutered pets, so in a way you pay a fine if you don't. But people who don't spay and neuter are not as likely to get their animals licensed. I want to know why we can't have more human castrations????
