You don't say what region of the back you have the pain.
Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar region of the back.

If this is your first experience with back pain, you may have slept in a very bad position. Or the springs in your mattress are weak and your back is not getting the support that it's needs.

You can stand in the shower and run hot water on the back of your back. (Hot but not hot enough to burn your skin).

And you can take either 500mg., of aspirin or 500mg., of Tylenol extra strength gel capsules

If you know for sure that your mattress, is not in the best shape, you can have a board cut to fit the side that you sleep on and this will give you alot more support and is far less cheaper then having to purchase a new mattress.

My patients I give them acupuncture and they are fine after one treatment.

Being it is not possible to do myself because of the area where the needles would have to go when I had back pain, I put a folded blanket under the sheet on the side I sleep and the problem was resolved. (Added support).

When you run the hot water over your back, at the same time try and bend over and touch your feet with your hands to loosen up your muscles in your back.

Exercise is important to keep in shape.

If you spend alot of time on the pc, purchase yourself from "Homedics", a cushion and back support that will message the zones of the shoulders, back and thighs, at LOW, MED and HI , plus it even gives off heat to the back area.

In France they are about 35 Euro. I use one on my the desk chair I sit on when working on my pc. If I feel my back getting stiff I turn it on for a few minutes.

Plus it is always important to get up and walk around a little to allow the blood to circulate and then go back to the pc.

If the problems is not resolved with the above suggestion, I would suggest you see a doctor to make sure you don't have other medical problems that are an in-direct cause to your back pain.

Take care.

Try a stronger pain killer, have a hot bath (not too hot so you burn yourself you don't want more problems)or hot water bottle and try and find a sitting position that it don't ache so much I lay on the floor with my knees up it straightens your back and go see your Dr to see if there is a problem that needs attention.

Go to the doctor if you don't know why it could be hurting. My brother had a back pain and ignored it and then an few days later he had to get his appendix taken out. (Not to scare you, yours could be nothing).

I would'nt use a chiropractor until you are sure that your problem is skelatal, try using an osteopath much more subtle manipulation of the bones and muscles.
