when its on the AV channel for the ps2 it makes a funny burring noise and the ps2 has crashed aswell

Oops you posted the question over an hour ago... I hope that you have unplugged it...
Something is overheating by the sounds of it and that is making it shut down non-essentials [av]
Vaccuum the back of it...it could just be dust...
Depending on the make it could be the on/off/standby button...
Get it checked professionally if the vaccuum doesn't work... better safe than a burned down house!

Disconnect your arial when doing this or scart for other devices.
