Sadly, this is the inevitable course for all super power cultures. Once you have the capability to lord over all other countries, or at least you believe you lord over all other countries due to a massive ego, you also become very spoiled as a nation & complacency & arrogancy runs rampant. You believe you have a right to do anything even if it harms others in the name of the Empire! Ergo the culture suffers from a lack of humility & the struggle to over come lifes basic needs as they are so readily available. Often those cultures who have become Empires distroy themselves as selfishness thrives to where the infighting becomes the focus & the super power culture is unaware that another super powerful Empire has emerged to take over the world. Without fanfare the previous super power is obsolete, devastated in its economy & unity it once enjoyed. A lass, my country tis of thee is no more as I wave my tattered Star-Spanged Banner with the wee ounce of integrity I still believe to have left.
However all this takes generations to occur, but make no mistake, it will occur. So prepare yourself for a long long downhill trend or maybe we might smarten up & learn from the history of previous super power nations past & change our destinies course?

The culture as a whole will continue a rapid decline and life will become almost intolerable as the producers of wealth will increasingly be spending their surplus on security schemes to protect them from the ever-increasing criminal class, and the workers will increasingly become drugged-out drones and souless slaves to petty and low-paying jobs.

Only until some sort of revolution that is equal parts spiritual and political can convince most of the citizenry that capitalism and corporate control of our daily lives are the underlying causes of our rapid spiritual and cultural decline will things begin to turn around.

The American culture will continue to decline until we learn to live, work, and express ourselves in more postive and constructive ways.
