no idea i think that it is supposed to make you look thinner but i hate it

New Trend? I've been wearing belts around my waist for years...of course I wear skirts and pants up around my waist too. Lucky for me, being high waisted, I make my clothes and don't have to depend on the very low cut of pants and skirts in the stores. I didn't wear "hip huggers" in the 60's and I certainly won't wear them now. When did belts around the waist become a "new trend"...just curious?
WHY did I get a thumbs down for this?

The trend of having belts above the waist is because it is the skinniest part of your body. So it will make you look like you have some curves. And I personally love it.

you mean over your shirt right? its just got pretty popular in the last year or so.. it looks cute to wear with a long, tunic-like shirt because it balances it out more. it doesnt make your waist look quite as long as it would if you were just wearing a really long shirt. it doesnt really work as well if your belt has a buckle though

if you mean girls wearing those huge belts above their waist, over dresses and such, that just looks stupid. almost as ugly as uggs + jean skirt.
