Professional wrestlers (like WWF) are like bodybuilders, the waxing helps define their muscles for that superhuman physique. Some real wrestlers claim that they don't get as much rug burn from it.

they rub oil on them self so the redness of slaps etc show up more and the sweat run of them easier all for the viewers
