I have birds coming in the chimney. The fireplace is walled off. Can I chase them out myself before I cover the chimney or do I need a pro?

theres nothing you can do im afraid. once they get down there they have to find their own way out or sadly they will just die. i had the same problem and had to have a wire mesh put over the top of our chimney. a bird did come down and get stuck behind fireplace but i think he managed to find his way out - cas when i got my gas fire pulled out and checked there were no birds behind it luckly

in reality turn the furnace on they will leave.. trust me..
