I thinks he's fantastic. He says what everyone else wants to. They just are to nice to say it themselves. I think he is direct and to the point. No pussie footing around with him.

The man may have an ear and an eye for people with commercial musical talent, but the man has no diplomacy when it comes to communicating his opinion which may do damage to a person's ego when they may be most vulnerable.

Shows like American Idol are great ideas to encourage people with their love for music and love for performing music. People like Cowell are great for ratings, and for those people who love to see aspiring performers crushed and/or have their performances brutally attacked.

I believe the premise is wrong to have your love for music judged by anyone. I would agree that the same brutal judgmentalism as displayed by persons like Cowell happen in the music world far too often. I think we all would be better off if the music lovers in the world were free from the ill-effects of critics which would allow for a greater amount of creativity which is really much-needed in the music we experience today. After all, the show is not based upon creativity, but in pandering to a commercial market. Idol amounts to little more than a huge karaoke contest. The oftentimes harsh comments by Cowell, I feel, do more damage to hinder the creative spirit, and help foster musical mediocrity than help the musical world.

I'd trust a guys opinion with that much education in music. Sure he's a jerk, but he's an honest one right? He knows what he's talking about,.

He doesn't always think before he talks. He isn't always right in his predictions. he really likes the pretty girls. i think he had a thing for Ryan Star. But he is a better judge than Randy and Paula.

I think as a judge on American Idol, he's fair and honest, but sooo egotistical. As a person, um, he's kinda hot. I think he'd actually be pretty nice in real life!
