She should consult her doctor. Just because she had a hysterectomy doesn't mean she would stop the hormonal implications (most hysterectomies leave the ovaries if they're not affected by the medical need to remove the uterus).
There are some herbal supplements available - look into a product called Estroven (available at most larger drugstore chains). Also, maybe check out this site - its very informative: http://www.knowmenopause.com

just a quick answer to reply to some who ask why she can't take hormones. any woman over the age of 40 is at a higher risk of cancers when they take hormones and since that higher risk out ways the good to the bones most doctors stay away from it unless you are young.. how do I know this I am 27 and was 24 when I had complete removal of my uterus and ovaries and i do take hormones b/c I am young and the risk of cancer isn't that high *hormones are never a long term cure at any rate* as for hot flashes tell her to keep a fan around her one that she can point at herself I do that so not to freeze everyone else lol

Why can't she take hormones? Who told you that? Women who have had hysterectomies can take hormones. The short answer to hot flashes is to live with them. They will slowly subside, but it will take a few years. As a husband, be patient and understanding with your wife. Your turn is coming...its called Andropause.

whay she can not take hormones? this should have nothing to do with hysterectomy
the hormones will block the hot flashes & help preserves the bone too.
otherwise there are other medications for hot flashes like clonidine (available by prescription).

i do now no longer imagine of I actually have heard of a few thing so despicable for a protracted time. This has now no longer some thing to do with faith or marriage. it fairly is more suitable to do with difficulty-free human decency about which this guy knows now no longer some thing. he's both gutless,callous,unprincipled-likely all 3 and then some more suitable. replaced into it incorrect? particular it replaced into an affront to any criteria you opt to degree it up antagonistic to-inspite of creed
