No, there is no scam. Many drugs are made from herbs as well, but there are other processes involved. Some are synthetics. But FDA will not approve herbal medicine itself because there is no money to be made in it. They cannot patent something from nature. Drug companies are about politics. So is FDA. Many herbal supplements work real well. A long time user of herbal supplements. Many herbs help with no side effects, but herbs can also be toxic too. You have to make sure you don't overdose. Get a herbal bible that explains what the herbs do and doses. It also explains when you should not take the herbs for particular medical conditions. There is a great website online called Native Remedies. They have excellent products and people to speak to who can advise you on the right products for your conditions. Good luck.

many herbal supplements do what the bottles say they do... there are real research studies out there ( http://pubmed.com go type in something in the search bar on top- these journals are true medical journals)
The FDA does NOT regulate or evaluate supplements, so they have to put that little statement on the bottle if they make a health claim.

yeah, some of the stuff actually works but id say about 75% of it doesnt. this what i call the idiot paradox: people on the internet ***** and whine about how bad modern medicine is and how bad they rip you off, while they tout herbal/alternative meds which in many cases are an even bigger scam. it isnt that much cheaper than approved over the counter medications, costs the companies less to make it, and it doesnt work as well and in many cases it doesnt work at all.

That is because the FDA and the government will not acknowledge any natural cures as medicine and they can get arrested if they claim a natural herb can be a cure because according to our law, only drugs that are approved by the FDA are able to be sold as cures.

basicly it is all about money.

READ NATURAL CURES THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT.

Yeah come to think about it so do most diet pills. I think they put it there cause the gov is not getting money for it. Being all natural and such. But on the flip side the drugs the do approve have so many side effects your afraid to take them. But look how much they cost.

Herbal supplements do actually work but you should research your needs before taking ANY supplement. Sometimes medical conditions or other medications can cause certain supplements to be contraindicated.

It is so the company won't get sued by our very litigation loving population!!
Also the FDA did not approve it for what it claims to do, so they have to say so.
Supplements work differently for different people, so you use at your own risk, basically.

they have to say that because they aren't regulated by the FDA. the US does very little research on herbs because of this.. so most of the studies either come from Europe or Canada..
