Well.. The media has a big impact on how I live. If the media says a movie is bad, I might not go and watch it. I might even purchase a certain item of clothing because of it..

Those god awful infomercial always seem to grab my attention. I.E. wonder mop/broom, the 500,000 piece show time knife collection, magic juicers.
Watching them in the middle of the night = buyers remorse in the morning.
