I wish to ask a simple question which possess no simple answer. Would you not agree that our society has become far too politically correct for its own good? If we are to continue any actuall debate or sociatal discourse we must not be afraid to hurt peoples feelings. No matter which way you go if you have an opinion you will hurt someones feellings. Deal with it!

i agree.
people are too quick to winge about how offended they are instead of providing a valid response to the debate, which actually gives them an opportunity to change the other persons opinion. real dumb... and doesn't exactly invite respect either.

Too much political correctness, yes. That some was needed for along time, that was also true.

It sort of depends on what you think PC is. If PC is not using insulting characterizations of people based on race, creed, color of skin, etc., then it was desperately needed for a long time. People were coarse for a long time and then blamed the victim who took offense, "Oh you are just too sensitive.." On the other hand, things like not saying Merry Christmas are a bit over the top in the area of PC-ness.

Dude we can't have mature political discourse because we have a large contingent that believes anyone with a different opinion is unpatriotic and bad citizens. A mature person should be able to disagree with someone without hurting their feelings. People disagree with me all of the time and my feelings aren't hurt. It's the immature labeling and name calling that starts to cause wounded feelings.

Politically Correct, prevents the truth from being told and there by no real solution can ever happen. Reality and being Politically Correct opposes one another!

I believe TRUTH has the right of way when it comes to politically correctness!

What you say is absolutely right. However, people whose main business is business are pretty much locked into keeping offended prospective customers to a minimum. This is the requirement of maximizing profit.

I agree. People need to take responsibility for their actions and we need to treat criminals as criminals and not worry about their feelings.
