I have several tattoos already, all quality stuff... no druggie type tattoos (no offense intended to anyone). I am morphine dependant due to a severe injury. My search is for good, quality imagry that symbolizes an addiction and the struggle surrounding it. So far... fisherman's nets wrapping up existing tattoos is all that comes to mind. I appreciate the input!

If you want to incorporate your exsisting work, you can make it look like each tattoo is peeling off as if tattooed onto a shedding piece of flesh.... symbolizing the illusion of being under the influence and how you are now "molting" and becoming a new being.... shedding your old skin.

Or you could make them look as if they are ink drawn on a torn piece of paper that is slowly burning away and turning to ash.... like a phoenix becoming ready to be reborn.

I know these don't exactly represent your struggle, but they would offer hope for change.

i have a heroin addict frient that got a bumble bee, with the stinger covering up his track mark...i guess to answer your question....obviously it would have to be symbolic to how you feel about it....in my active addiction i felt like i was trapped, but it was all my own doing....almost like being in a cage but i held the key...
