I hear so many stories, from American’s like

What type of houses do we live in, like Igloo’s
Do we now what a fridge is
Is it always cold and do you always have snow
Do all our police wear red coats

What do you know about Canada

I'm with Lilith. We're not taught a whole heck of a lot about other countries. Yes, we usually get a Western Civ-type class that will cover the basics of the Greco-Roman period and some of Europe's history - mostly England, France and Germany. I remember getting a few lessons about the colonization of North America, including references to French settlers of Canada and our battles during the Revolution. However, on the whole, other countries' histories are not the biggest deal in American schools. To be fair, they don't teach a heck of a lot of American history, either - just the basics, over and over again.

*sigh* And we wonder why other people don't like us all the time.

I as an American was never taught much about Canada in school. We know about your maple leaf flag and Celen Dion (spelling?), but we learn nothing about your history. We know that you rule at hockey and alot of good comedians come from there. The impression that I've always gotten of Canada is that it's a friendly, neutral place with beautiful scenery and nice people. It seems like the kind of place I'd like to live.

That's freaking rediculous. I'm from Washington state so maybe I know these things because I've driven there a time or two. Most of us just get annoyed with Canada for various reasons. I have a bad experience any time I go there but you all seem like American's that just say "eh" a lot and pay with looneys and tooneys. And from my experience it seems a lot of Canadians feel the same toward Americans. It's like Tongans vs Samoans. We all think we're better than one another when we're all pretty much the same. (except american's are better of course. haha j/k)

About as much as they do about any other foriegn nation, squat.
Most Americans view thier nation as the only legitimate nation and therefore the U.S. is intitled to claim control of the entire planet. This has been even more emphised during the Bush occupation of America.
