How can you save the world from itself?
The only way to eradicate what you mentioned would be to eradicate humanity.
The world has negative aspects mixed with the good...as much as you and I.
It wouldn't be natural to have a perfect world.
Opposites define each other and give charachter.

if you save people you save life
some aspects of this world are not worth considering, much less saving,
but the world an dlife is all about people

The purpose of life is to make the most out of yourself, the people that you know, and the world, to bring the best out of everything and everybody and all that just won't happen by sitting, doing nothing.
