So time has nothing to do with it?

Human aging is due to several biological processes that occur IN time, but not neccessarially DUE to time. Specifically, the accumulation of free-radicals and toxins in cytoplasm, transcription errors in the DNA during mitosis, and, perhaps the most significant, the cessation of function of telomerase during puberty. This is an enzyme that replaces the noncoding "tails" of our chromosomes during replication, as a few nucleotide bases get cut off every time a cell divides. Without the addition of those bases after each round of mitosis, the chromosomes get incrementally shorter and shorter, until the coding regions become affected, causing improper protein synthesis and consequent degradation of metabolic processes.

Or, I suppose you could view aging as a sort of complicated manifestation of entropy, which many consider to be an indicator of time's arrow. In which case, time causes aging because causality won't allow us to return to infancy physically as the years progress, but will allow us to develop wrinkles & varicose veins. :)

But like I said to begin with, in my humble opinion, time is a contextual setting, not a causative agent, of the aging process.

Well there is more to aging then the topics listed.

1) As a person ages the heart rate decreases,
We have the second law of thermodynamics as system get older order breaks down and entropy ensues this law holds for all system whether human, universe, etc... At youth food is used to grow, to become bigger, stronger and healthier, the older person food is made for maintenance, and above maybe fifty a person ages physically the trend is that muscle and bone mass decrease excluding the case of a person becoming fatter which also may be caused by lower metabolism rate as a person ages also, also large amount of age related disease like being over weight, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes etc..

Repeat explanation in other word: See food is used to grow in youth, maintain in old age till food cannot maintain as the body degenerates. Well aged people have less physical(energy) then young people and more effort(energy) for a aged person to do actives which follows again the second law which eventually leads to death.

The degenerative factor, environment plays a role, many facts about aging and the environment about free radical, radiation, pollution, diseases and the causes of aging. As we can make an observation about environment that the environment has less energy and more is becoming free as sunlight solar energy escapes not being captured by green cover, where green cover means captured energy(sunlight) not free, and degeneration of green cover means loss of energy to free energy. Environmental degradation may play role about this degeneration factor the quality of food eaten determines health, also varieties of foods with unknown nutrition value , UV rays, cosmic rays, and radiation, pollution, exposure to new chemicals, new disease caused by environmental degradation rapid growth of human population and mad science. Dare to drink the polluted river water or breathe that polluted air or bake in that radioactive sun, etc.?

For example a smoker ages faster then a nonsmoker because exposer to toxic cigarette smoke same with environment by expose to toxins in environment in the food we eat we age faster because of degeneration. TV’s radiation s bad for the eyes.

So the degeneration factor is very visible one book I often quote about environment, Deserts ad Men by Matthijs de Vreede " The total amount of land lost to the desert in the last 2,000 years might be sufficient to feed the whole of today's world population..... Never before however, has the world been confronted with desert creep on the scale of the last fifty years.” Further Many articles have recently have came how we are hottest climate in the world since a million years. Others recent articles we are in the biggest extinction period since the dinosaurs or maybe bigger than the dinosaurs. Ozone depletion and pollution factors, rapid growth of diseases. Are many causes of the increased degenerate factor.

Points of disagreements: No HGH does not changes ageing factors only some symptoms of aging can be prevented but the accumulation of free radicals, disease, physical and nutritional deficiency, pollution cannot be answered by one a magic bullet HGH, genetics does not give any explanation it is just a technical point to an overall factor.

Second law of thermodynamics best answer my opinion.

Discussion: The degenerate factors people would argue on some level and agree on other levels. Maybe FDA has done a good job, or not. But I think we are in entropy except for isolated cases therefore we do not see history through clear eyes. Most people say human ancestor like Neanderthal, Homo erectus were much more physically fit had better height and more muscles and Neanderthal had one contradiction had also a bigger brain then modern humans. Except for the ancient Greeks who wrote about their ancestors in the ages of man describe four races of man one golden, one silver, one bronze and last modern iron aged . We don’t find too many people except such natives, scientist that can give any account of the races of men.

Last questions to be answered: Are we in entropy or chaos? Would we know if we are in entropy or chaos? If you feel I have failed to answer your question as completely as possible my final question why were we born? Maybe this question might solve the aging riddle?

Time doesn't cause aging - living causes aging. If we were dead we wouldn't age, even though time still continues.

I think it's all about the way people treat their bodies. The better you treat it (eating right, exercising, not smoking or drinking alcohol, getting enough rest, etc.), the better you'll look.
