what are the downsides of e 85. i no it gets bad millage and if your car cant take it it messes up the engine. what else

And it actually takes more energy to make ethanol from corn than the energy you get out of the ethanol. And guess what is used as the energy source to make the ethanol? Oil!

From an ecology standpoint it takes large amounts of water to grow corn. With population growth and especially in areas like Phoenix there's a great demand for water. Growing crops specifically for generation of e 85 will further tax our water resources.

if you live where it gets very cold, it can keep your engine from starting
the shelf life is only 6 months
