We have a program in our school district called Middle College High School. You take high school and college classes at the same time and you can graduate high school and get your AA at the same time. Now the MBA thing???????

A person can be in high school and take college courses and receive credit for those courses. This is called dual enrollment. However, a person has to have a bachelor's degree before they can even start the MBA program. I think it would be quite difficult to be almost a junior in college and still be in high school, more likely almost a sophomore. So he's telling you a half truth, yes you can go to high school and college at the same time. He could be in an accelerated masters program, but it would be a continuation of what he is already doing. By the way, I do this very thing for a living so I know what I'm talking about.

Yes you can. Some high schools will allow you to take classes at a local community college which will fulfill some of your high school requirements. For instance, a friend of mine took a Japanese course at a community college because Japanese wasn't offered at our high school and he got permission from both the college and the high school. He received high school credit and the college gave him college credit. That idea can be applied towards any high school course that would have a college parallel. If you take all the AP tests too, you would have an additional 12 units or so.

So this guy graduated high school, he probally had about 50 units, so when he officially get into college he probally has most of his lower division and GE out of the way and he can concentrate on his major. With the right planning he can take MBA courses while working on his BS in Business (many of the classes overlap).

Overall, this takes a lot of planning and a whole lot of effort.

The MBA thing doesn't sound plausible. I took collage level courses in high school and went on to an engineering school after I went in the military. My wife's best friend home schools her daughters and the 14 year old is starting in collage this year she's one smart cookie!

If you scored very high on your SATs and maintain a high GPA some public state run colleges will award you credits based on your scores. My one friend could have waived 2 years this way but she chose to go to a private school which did not offer the waiver. I have a cousin who attended college when he was 16. Haven't you ever watched Doogie Howser M.D.?

I don't know about the MBA however many people take college courses and graduate from HS and go into their sophomore or jr. year of college. Check with your local university for requirements.
