I believe in the human dream. A world of peace and prosperity for all. I'm not naive. In all likelihood we will never achieve it. However, if we would just strive for it think how much better the world, including the continent of America would be.

Sure! In fact, I believe I am living it... in a way, anyway.

I have dinner ready each night for my breadwinning husband and I stay home to teach my kids my morals and values until they are old enough for grammar school, at which time I become their soccer mom/scouting mom/fieldtrip chaperone/baker of cupcakes for school parties and greeter of the school bus every afternoon.

We own our own home and our two cars. We have three happy healthy kids, two dogs, two rats and a turtle. We save up for family vacations and enjoy bicycling and rollerskating as a family. We have holiday parties and BBQs with our friends and their families.

Yet, at the same time, I still date my husband and we go to metal shows, we have "personal photo shoots" to keep things fun in the bedroom, we have dinner parties with friends every week and we take weekend trips (just the two of us) a couple times a year to do those crazy things that kids just can't attend.... like motorcycle rallies and rockabilly festivals.

It might not be the dream some people had in mind, but this is what we dreamt about and we're living it exactly as we'd hoped and enjoying every minute of it... we worked hard to get here.

A loving husband and daughter, a roof over our heads, food on the table, a good job, transportation, fun on the weekends...

I stopped believing when I found about our history. Idealism and thoughts that mirror it are best for an ideal world.
