The washer and dryer have been in storage for the past year. I'm not sure if the units have incurred any wear or damage from sitting in storage. Is it a good deal to buy a washer or dryer that has sit in storage for less than a 2 years?

the units that drive the pumps etc on a washer are sealed units and should not be a problem. The rubber belt that goes around the dryer and makes the thing run could me dry, but those things are made to last at least 10 to 20 years, so if the machines are fairly new, you might be getting a good deal, but it still buyer beware

My daughter stored a gas dryer at my house because her military housing was set up for electric. It sat down there over 5 years when my gas dryer quit. I put hers into service and had no problems. I can't see what could wear out unless hoses or something have dry rot and that you can see.

The seals will be dried out in the washer. The motors may also be seized up due to not being used on both units. They may be full of bugs and spider webs. Some of the electrical components
may be corroded from the moisture. If they do work, they won't work for long.

All rubber parts should be replaced, especially the hoses. Cheap fix. You did well.
