hey, sturdy element this isn't a question because there is no answer. suitable is subjective. anybody has their own definition of suitable. i imagine Yngqie Malmsteen is an amazingly sturdy guitar participant. I doubt that he performs with the emotion and sense of Segovia. yet he's an impressive participant. of route there have been 1000's of impressive gamers (lots of which by no skill performed rock). earlier your statement has any genuine which skill you want to absolutely outline what you mean through the note "suitable." Is it best of a particular type of song. best of an era. suitable reflecting only speed. suitable reflecting creativity. without understanding the way you outline suitable, you somewhat have suggested no longer something. Hendrix was and is the man and would no doubt be awesome if around in this era.
Vai is a favourite but i agree Malmsteem is technically an extremely accomplished musician with one hell of a stage presence - don't think the audience in 'Live in Leningrad' got it though!

This is totally off the topic but Schecter guitar Research made a one-of-a-kind axe for the promotion of the newest Chainsaw Massacre movie. I thought it was gorgeous:

Personally, I prefer Satriani, as his technique is used more in service of the song rather than in service of technique itself.
However, I'm sure Yngwie agrees with you . . .

He's great, but very repetative. I'll have to go with George Lynch. He's got groove.
