I have recently been bleeding in between periods for a few days at a time, but have been on birthcontrol for years. I was wondering if I should be worried, since I have never experienced this before. Usually I bleed a few days before my period, but this has been going on for about a week (not due to get my period til next week). I take my birthcontrol pills (Yasmin) everyday at the same time, and when I do have sex, I am very careful to have my boyfriend use a condom. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Should I just wait until next week and see what happens (that is when my period is due).

Breakthrough bleeding is common and usually of no consequence. However, it might be good idea to mention this to your OB/Gyn to get her/his recommendations. Be prepared to state when this started, how many days it lasts, how heavy the bleeding is and the color and consistency as well as any unusual odor.

Its just break through bleeding. Either you messed up on what time you took your pill sometime in the past three days or you've been on this birth control for less than three months. CHILL.

It is called Breakthrough bleeding and is due to one of the constituent hormones in the contraceptives called "progesterone"
Once the contraceptive is stopped, your periods should return to normal.

This sounds very normal but keep an eye on it and if it continues for too long call your doctor.
