There are three ways to classically invoke the jin. One is to find one already captured in a magical container (hence, the lamp). You rub or knock on the container and call the jin forth. Second, you cast a magic spell using a special linguistic formula in Arabic. Finally, you encounter the jin in a deserted place in the desert. You go, for example, to a grave site and they will appear at midnight.
