It's happened to me a couple of times now where I get random MySpace friend requests from total strangers with whom I have nothing in common. Some of them are obviously the equivalent of spam, wanting me to look at some naked woman's webcam or something, but others are from seemingly normal people whom I don't know at all. I'm not even active on MySpace---how do these people find me and why do they want to be added to my friends list?

Because a lot of people on myspace just want their friends list to be as big as possible. Lame eh?

I was surprised to see one day that I had numerous My-Space friend requests. Most of them turned out to be spam! I added them but soon they disappeared. I wonder how! My friend count stayed inflated, however. The number failed to update! So it is much higher than the actual number of friends I have. I would suspect that means those spy-ware accounts remain in the network. What deleted them from my account?

I have the same problem...I call them MySpaceWhores....I guess they figure it's a good way to network and get visibility and make it look like they have a ton of friends. I mean, you know that the people with 300+ friends don't REALLY have that many friends....it's just like buying something big and shiny to make up for the fact that you suck. lol

Some people are just trying to collect as many "friends" as possible.
