How to convert from CD to a form acceptable by iPod?

Plop the CD into your computer, run iTunes, and do an import.

You can set your iTunes preferences to rip the CD to either MP3 or AAC format, as well as set the bitrates of the imported files (higher bitrates mean better quality but larger files).

Open iTunes, select the CD icon, select the tunes, click on Advanced/Convert e voila!
