Interesting to read about the many view attempting to answer this question. The truth be told I have to conclude that Ted Kennedy is indeed a murderer and Mary Jo was his victim. It seems to be of little concern to many voters. I think people keep voting for him because his political record has been so strong. He has been a top notch US Senator for many years. This does not excuse him from his crime for which he should be punished. We as people need to hold our politicians to a much higher standard! No con should be able to hold political office.

It is a murder.
Mary Jo Kopechne drowned to death - she worked for Ted Kennedy. He was most likely drunk when he drove the car off the bridge in exclusive Chappaquiddick.
He didn't make a statement for several days. He didn't even call the police until the next morning (!) but it was too late, she had been dead for several hours.
He gave a speech on tv, several days after the accident - wearing a neck brace. He pleaded for forgiveness from the voters of Massachusetts and appealed to their nature by invoking his 2 assassinated brothers, John and Robert Kennedy.
He even had the gall to go to Miss Kopechne's funeral.
He has been a senator since 1962.
Democrats seem to love to criticize the other party but refuse to admit the evil in their side of the aisle.
Besides Ted Kennedy, there is also 84 yr old West Virginia senator ROBERT BYRD who is a confessed former member of the KKK!!!! (But Hillary loves him so it's okay!)

Well, first of all, it was an accident. Even if he did lie about it, which he probably did, he didn't intentionally kill her. Laura Bush accidentally killed a friend while drunk driving, but you don't see anyone going around calling her a murderer or saying that the President is married to a murderer. Accidents are just that accidents.
I love what passes for political discourse on the Right these days.

Money talks and the Kennedy's walk, how did the rapist beat the rape case? Kennedy ca$h. The Kennedy family name is appearantly important to the state of Massachusetts. I can't think of any other reason. I don't think he has done anything good in his political career.

regrettably, in accordance to a neurosurgeon I heard on the radio in the present day, this kind of tumor has an exceedingly undesirable diagnosis. depending upon individual features, regularly the survival time after discovery isn't any more suitable than a twelve months and may want to correctly be a lot less.

The same way that Laura Bush survived running over her ex boyfriend with her car and killing him back in her youth in Texas.
The same way George W., survived his cocaine use and AWOL staus in the National Guard.
The same way George W survived his insider trading scandal that he not only walked away from but profited from without reporting his earnings with the federally appointed guideline time period.
The same way George W survived using his status as Governor of Texas to "condemn" several family ranches so he could build a baseball stadium for the team he part owned.
The same way the Bush daughter BOTH survived their Minor in posession arrests when they were in college.
