During Hurricane season if you stick to the Southern Islands there is less of a chance with hurricanes. It has to do with the water temps. When a hurricane gets down there they tend to dissipate down to a tropical storm. These islands are much longer flights depending on your departure city.
There are other destinations you could go to and avoid the possibilities of bad weather, however because of hurricane season those places raise there prices up over other times of the year. That is why many honeymooners still opt to look at the Caribbean. Your money will just go a lot further here.
Hawaii is beautiful year round and Tahiti, but Tahiti is like no other place in the world with the over-water bungalows so it's pretty costly. You have to be careful in booking Tahiti because you can get what you think is a great deal and go there and find your accommodations are a step above camping! Seriously, so please don't be fooled by flashing online promos trying to grab your eye.

There are several great places you can go for your honeymoon and even though August is hurricane season in the Caribbean but there are areas like Jamaica that have not been touched by a hurricane in over ten years. Another area to consider might be Puerto Vallarta on the Mexican Riviera side. You could also consider Hawaii if it is withing your budget. Travel insurance is also something that you can consider and Sandals Resorts does offer a hurricane guarantee. We are certified honeymoon specialist and we deal with destination worldwide. Have you thought about Southern Italy and the Amalfi Coast. Can't get more romantic than that. :)
I honeymooned in Sorrento, Italy. Check out this hotel property - it's just gorgeous, http://www.exvitt.it/ - It is called the
Grand hotel Excelsior Vittoria. You will not believe the views from this hotel. And the town of Sorrento is small and easy to walk around and explore if you get tired of just hanging at the hotel. Another plus about this hotel is that the main Ferry to the Isle of Capri leaves from this hotel. The Isle of Capri is a great day trip, as they are famous for having the 'Blue Grotto.' Another great day trip is visiting any of the easily accessible nearby cities, which include Naples, Poisitano, Amalfi, Pompeii and more. Poisitano was made more popular from the movie 'Too Much Tuscan Sun.' If you saw that one.
I don't think you'd be disappointed. A trip of a lifetime.

Try the San Simieon Valley it is a great location for a nice romantic honey moon. There is beaches, nice weather year round, wine tasting a castle tour and lots of little shops and resturants. I would suggest staying at the Madonna Inn its a little pricey but well worth the money. You will have a wonderful time.
Congradulations take care.

How about San Francisco and then take a ride down the coast or a boat to Catalina? If you want more adventure, take a cruise to Alaska or go on an African Safari.....
