Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile works like a charm. You can also use Murphy's Oil Soap. Real soap, NOT petroleum-based detergent (like dishwashing liquid) is the key.
Hydrogen peroxide may be useful as well. The peroxide will start foaming when it is in contact with blood. When it does not bubble any more, either the blood is gone or the fabric is too wet and needs to be wrung out.

I don't know what kind of fabric the shirt is, but if it's washable, he should spit on the blood stains, if possible, as his saliva contains the same protein as his blood does, and it takes the blood out of the fabric. This wont work tho, if you laundered the shirt in anything but cold water, and if you dried it in the dryer, the heat from dryer has set the blood stain in the fibers of the fabric.
Here's one idea, soak the garment in a bucket (or sink) full of cold water with a half cup of Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda overnight. The next day launder it in cold water with Era liquid laundry detergent and another half cup Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda . Then hang the shirt outside in bright sunlight, as sunlight is a bleaching agent in itself. That should work.

Spray on some liquid Vanish and then wash again or failing that you can but tiny bottles of stain remover especially for blood from the supermarket. Hope you washed the shirt first off in cold water as hot can set the stain?

Use cold water and Ivory soap and scrub. Never use hot water on bloodstains as it will set the stain! After you have the majority of the blood out pour laundry detergent (or use Stain Stick or similar) on the stain, rub into cloth, and then wash in cold water with the darks.
Do this as fast as possible so the stain doesn't set!

Cold water is always best for taking out bloodstains. Try soaking the shirt in OxyClean for a few hours in cold water.

Made it a work shirt or give it away to good will.
Giving it away will make you feel good.
Your time is worth something and you are wasting too much time on something that isn't that valuable.
Don't let Greed get the best of you. It is a shirt. If the shirt was not in style you would throw it away in a heart beat.
It is blood stained so give it to good will.
Have a GREAT Day !!

My grandmother used to do custom quilting for rich women during the Depression. She told me when she pricked her finger and got blood on the quilt, the best way to dissolve the blood was saliva. It's the enzymes in saliva that dissolve the blood stain.
I guess this would work best for a small amount of blood, and you'd have to use your own saliva.

Go to the store and buy some Clorox oxi spray. Spray it directly on the stain. Let is sit for a couple minutes. After, spot clean or wash it. I love the stuff. It works well. You can even use it to spot clean your carpet.
