Hi, I'm Dutch and I'm amazed about all the wrong answers here!!!

First of all, Holland is what you people call our country, but that isn't correct. Holland is only part of the country: two provinces at the west-coast: North Holland and South Holland. (It's like saying England when you mean Great Brittain). The correct name is: The Netherlands.

Secondly: we only have ONE capital city, which is Amsterdam. The Hague is the seat of the government (yes, I know it's weird).

I am Dutch and completely agree with Endie v.
Amsterdam is the capital of our country, the Netherlands.

Den Hague is the place our government seats, and the provincial capital of South Holland. Not the capital of the Netherlands.
Haarlem is the capital of the province of North Holland. Holland is just the name of a part of the Netherlands and nowadays exists out of 2 provinces, North Holland and South Holland.

Amsterdam is the capital city and The Hague ( Den Haag or
's-Gravenhage) is the Netherlands seat of government, the home of the monarch.
