I accidentally spilled a large drop of bleach on a brand new red top. Of course it turned white. Is there some kind of permanent fabric color? It's made of 65% viscose/35% nylon. Any ideas to salvage it?

Try getting a new shirt.

The bleach hasn't stained the shirt it has removed the stain. In this case the stain was your red stripes. The only way to repair the shirt would be to re-stain it (good luck trying to match the colors), or cutting that patch out and replacing it with an identical patch (and somehow covering up the stitches).

I am sorry you can't get bleach "out" of clothing because it was already removed in the wash. Bleach stains are actually points where all the colors were removed, which is why you normally only use bleach on your whites.

I had the same thing happen with a solid blue sweater. I filled my kitchen sink with hot water and added a cup of bleach, then put in the sweater. I lightened the whole sweater by swooshing the hot bleach solution and letting it soak for about an hour, then rinsed it completely out. Be sure you wear junk clothes while playing with bleach!

Then I bought liquid RIT dye (dissolves quicker) and redyed my sweater another color, in this case I chose an olive green. No more bleach mark.

However, my sweater was 100% cotton. Your shirt is a blend and the new dye might not "take" properly.

If you don't mind having a lighter color red shirt, you can take a bucket of cold water and a cap full of bleach. Quickly immerse the shirt into the bucket making sure the whole shirt gets wet and then remove. It will fade it to a lighter shade but it may save the shirt.

You would have to buy fabric dye, like RIT and dye the whole shirt over again, but there is a great chance that one spot will never be the same color as the rest of the shirt again.

It's not a spot, the bleach has permanently removed the dye from the shirt. Toss it and move on.

Buy a dye which is as close to the colour of your T-shirt as possible and use this. It might take a couple of gos but should cover it up. Failing that, use it as a duster.

Martha, I am afraid you will just have to bleach the whole shirt to match the spot. I hope you don't mind a white shirt.
