One of my best..one day i washed my dog, and because he is very big and hairy, the water ran out, i tied him to the wheelbarrow, and fetched more water in a bucket, and poured it onto him. He yelped, snarled and took of round the house with the wheelbarrow in tow, it bounced, and got stuck around the corners, came loose, and bounced after the dog again. It was a helluva racket, even the neighbours peeped over the fence to see what the hell...
Eventually the barrow broke loose, and the dog stood peeping at it around a corner, to see if it would attack again...
i realised that the water was not mixed properly, and a little too hot for him.
He bites the barrow and lawnmower , bucket, and anything with wheels now...
Several nights after that, i woke myself LOL .

Yes you do laugh out load because even though your body is relaxed you still have all the emotions available to you and depending on your dreams depends on what emotions are used. Although i have never woken up laughing, but not everyone is the same, some people show there emotions when they are most relaxed, Ie have been drinking or are asleep. It is down to the individual and there personality as to whether this happens to them.

I am always too busy running and talking to people in my dream and organising stuff, I guess I forget to laugh in my sleep. Sometimes all of my teeth are falling out in my dreams, and I am so embarrassed when that happens :) But I do sing in my sleep.
Several people, from friends, to a boyfriend and even my grandma, have told me I sing in my sleep. And off course I like talking too, I love waking people up by starting talking quite loud, and when others say something to me at that point I will start mumbling something and continue on sleeping. I do laugh out loud a lot about that.

Haven't woken up laughing before, but have woken up crying and have been so upset that it's taken a long time to calm down.

My husband says that I laugh, shout, talk and punch in my sleep. I have never woken up when this happens. It worries me that I punch as that's a side that only comes out when I sleep.

I haven't woken up laughing, but I did once wake up crying my eyes out and had to wake my husband for hug. I had an awful dream which still upsets me to this day.

Hi >
Simple answer is yes.
I have often awoken to my own silly jokes or distant escapades from years ago, and realised why.

It seems to be a feature of a lively imagination.

Giggling like a giggly thing until I realise what it was all about.

So, yes, you are not alone.

I have done that several times , but generally I realize I'm laughing , then wake up wondering what that was all about because I never seem to remember what triggered it .
