think of 9 months up 9 months down as a generalization. not a biblical fact.

it can be if you take care of yourself. i was one of the few woman that actually weighed less after pregnancy then i did before i got pregnant in the first place. (i would stop eating the second the baby moved from sleep) but the rule is not to be hard on yourself at least the first 6 months after the baby is born. otherwise you will drive yourself crazy over the extra weight.

Much of the weight you've been gaining will be gone pretty soon after you give birth. The baby accounts for about 7 1/2 pounds (more or less, depending on when you give birth), and the amniotic fluid, placenta, and extra body fluids and blood in your body add up to another 8 to 12 pounds. Also, your uterus and breasts have gotten bigger, adding up to 4 to 6 pounds. Remember, it took nine months to put on the weight and it can take just as long or longer for it all to come off. (Also keep in mind that if you choose to breastfeed, that will help burn calories faster than if you don't, plus the baby gets the added bonus of some of the immunities you pass on to him or her)

It all depends on your metabolism which can be different while you're nursing, your diet, and your exercise. You do lose some of it right away but not everyone loses all of it quickly. I put on 25 lbs when I was pregnant, lost 17 in the first month then took a year before the last 8 came off.

Not necessarily. It depends on how much you gain how active you were during pregnancy how active you are after you give birth and whether or not you decide to breastfeed. Breastfeeding burns 500 calories a day and helps you lose the baby weight.

I think it depends on how much weight you gain. I was very sick the first time and only gained 18 lbs. I could get back into my jeans within a week. It was a little harder with second time with my twins, I gained 25 with them, but they were 5 weeks early. I'd say within a month, I was back to normal.

Also, a lot of it depends on your age and general level of fitness. Young women lose that weight a lot faster.

Even if you lose the pounds, your belly may not go right back to the same shape as before.

Not everyone, but that should certainly be a goal. The longer you wait or it takes to lose, the harder it will be.
With my first child, I lost it in 6 weeks. My second was about 6 months, and now my third (just turned one), its been very hard to tone. Ive lost, but my stomach wont tone and Im getting a tummy tuck in 6 weeks.....

ABSOLUTLEY NOT seriously ... some take longer, however it only took me a few weeks.. don't listen to everyone... however... you should try to exercise during your pregnancy even if you're just walking... it will increase ur chances of losing the weight afterwards bc it keeps ur metabolism going... also ... just bc ur pregnant doesn't mean you can eat what ever you want... it actually means you need to eat better

for some of us yeah,no disrespect to the others but I find it alitle hard to belive you gained such little weight durring pregnancy. How much did your babies weigh?Between the baby,placenta,water retension,and the amneotic sac the average woman gains at least 25 to 30 pounds.
