I loved San Francisco, CA, in my trip Brazil-US in January 2004. So many cool places to go!!!!! Alcatraz, cable cars, Piers, sea food and museums!!! I know NYC, Denver, Miami, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlantic City too but San Francisco is the best!

Before Hurricane Katrina, my answer would be New Orleans. The leisurely pace of life, friendly people, great food, and lots of wonderful things to do. I haven't been there since the storm, but I sure hope that everything gets back to normal as soon as possible.
