If anyone is asking you to transfer money for anything like that it is a trick. It is a way to get some of your money....usually transferring also gives out your account number which will lead to losing more money. I would do a search on this to see what other information you are getting. Since it is pounds I am assuming you are not in the States...here we could search companies through the Better Business Bureau (BBB)..is there something like that where you live?

I've never heard of it, but it sounds like a scam.

When I was job hunting a few years ago, I had an "interview" with a similar organization, who promised to use their "contacts" to get me a job...for $1000s of dollars upfront. Luckily, I found out that there were a lot of unhappy customers and didn't give them any money!

Most "headhunters" get paid by the company that eventually hires you (about 20% of your first year's salary).
