I worked in show business for many years. There are two routes to success. One is that you refine your talents, work hard, audition like mad, work local and regional theatre til you have a name --and keep going to til you fall over. People do sometimes still make it this way.
But the new environment is that the first dibs in show business go to the connected. There's a reason almost every famous performer is related to someone in the business. It's called nepotism and it is the dirty giant secret of Hollywood and Broadway. Second dibs increasingly go to the children of the very wealthy or otherwise infamous people. By which I mean Paris Hilton and that sort of thing...
The talented, but unconnected can still make it, but the odds are way against them. Yes, this is unfair, but it is a choice that the general public has made when they choose celebrities. It has something to do with the notion that has taken hold in the land that only chumps rely on hard work and that celebrities are somehow more important than the rest of us.
Sorry, but that really is the picture out there. There is a whole industry of agents and schools and support industries like the headshot business that feed on the millions of wannabes. Some of the wannabes are far more talented than the successful.
I suggest that if your friend wants to be an entertainer that you outline this reality for her. Perhaps she will get lucky with that connection she has... that sort of thing can happen. It's why David Blaine is famous --he had some famous friends who kind of greased the wheels for him. He certainly didn't make it because he was a talented or innovative magician. There are thousand better than he that you'll never hear of unless magic is your thing.
I think from the tone of your question, you already know most of this...

To be an actor, what most people do is run away to Hollywood, go to a bunch of auditions and hope for the best. Lots of people are in Hollywood for years before getting even a bit role. People are even competetive to be extras. A really good thing to do is watch the first ten minutes or so of E True Hollywood stories to learn what they did, and then change the channel as soon as the person gets famous.

No sensible person wants to act. But who wants sensible people round all the time anyway
Next step: get enough experience (maybe an FE college or extramural course at a uni) to get an audition at a big drama school eg RADA . You can't get enough experience
That's you started. There will always be bit parts. Even a TV series won't guarantee success.

First learn spelling. We don't care who this famous person is (grow up), and you need talent and desire to get into show business. What gymnastics has to do with it I don't know, and I think you are confusing one with the other. Apparently you have an urgent desire to become famous.. Like I said, grow up, kid.
