my first car was approx 17 years ago when i was 17, it cost me £200 (hey big spender or what!) it was a mk1 ford fiesta. the reg of the vehicle UWW 558R, yes folks thats right an R reg the first time round. she was called freda, freda the fiesta! it would brake down everyday, to the point where i used to park on the top floor of the multi storey car park so i could bump start it on the ramp going down when i got out of work to get home! it had a big hole in the foot well so got wet when it rained! it had no radio, i used to carry a portable tape deck with spare batteries....... but i loved it!!!
fave car.... difficult one... i'm 34 now and have raised my standards a little so got many reasons for loving all my cars (all from new)... vitara big foot conv - pure fun in the sun, mgf conv - more fun in the sun - life before kids, zafira - ya can everything in them buggers - kids arrived LOL, presently on 320 BMW it moves to say the least! your xr3i was a wicked call matey. certainly beats freda.

My first was a Fiat Punto (M-reg) which I loved for 2 1/2 yrs til I ruined it on the M25, then I bought an H-reg Clio which I loved to bits - much more than the Punto! And more than the 2004 Fiesta I have now. No character! I'm looking for a mini now - a very old one I can tinker with =) Clio's my favourite definitely, it was sooooo cute, and had a cool number plate too, people thought it was personalised. Loved that car! But when your gran gives you £6k and you've got a posh job you don't keep driving round in an old banger day to day

An ice blue E-Type would have been my ideal car - never did get one....
I had to wait til I got married for my first car and that was a British racing green Mark 1 Cortina, with twin Weber carburettas, lowered suspension and alloys. I learnt maintenance on a Mark 2 Consul with black and white chevon bumpers, column change gears and a bench seat in the front.

Old Volkswagen Beetle.
It was and still is an icon of exceptional engineering, design and reliability. I had three in a row and never lost money on them when resold. If buying one check carefully for rust on the sills, the panel behind the door, the front tyre well, the exhaust and heating system. Pay around £3000 and you should be OK and they always turn heads

My first car was a 3 dr Renault 5. £125 at auction - bargain! Another £125 to get it on the road...
The only problem I had was the starter motor.
It lasted me just over a year and was still running when they towed it away to be scrapped.

My first car i owner was a rover p6 2200cc but the first one I owned when I passed my test was an Opel Manta. My favourite car by far was my beloved Renault 5 GT Turbo. My wife made me get rid of it when she was pregnant as it was lowered so far it was like riding in a go-kart. Women!

well the new volkswagon bugs just came out when i was in high school and i wanted one SO bad, last year i could finally buy a new car, i was going to get a bug since i always wanted it, but then i found out that there being made in mexico now, have really crappy craftsmenship, the parts break easily and are super expensive, and it was rated terribly in consumer reports! so i searched around and found the perfect car for me, a Toyota Scion Xb!
