◙ TIP: IF YOU ARE TRYING TO HIDE YOUR WEB TRAVELS, DELETING YOUR WEB HISTORY WON'T DO YOU ANY GOOD. ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DELETED CAN BE UNDELTED. SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS MESSAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

◙ Internet Explorer 6.0 or older versions
1. To clear SINGLE history items. Press CTRL+H to open the History Panel. Move your cursor over the one you want and click your right mouse button. When the menu appears click on DELETE.
2. To clear EVERY history item. Go to TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > GENERAL TAB > CLEAR HISTORY BUTTON. To disable your history set it up so "days to keep history" equals zero.

◙ Firefox
1. To clear SINGLE history items. Press CTRL+H to view the history list. Then choose a chronological or alphabetical hierarchy in the View menu (the default is chronological, from most recent to oldest). Now browse to the domain, date, or page you want to expunge, right-click it, and choose Delete. Click the red X in the top-left corner to close the History pane.
2. To clear EVERY history item. Go to Tools > Options and click the "Privacy" tab. Click the + next to "History" to expand it. Just hit the "Clear" button.
3. To delete Firefox's entire record of your browsing activity, choose Tools > Options > Privacy > History > Clear Browsing History Now (this dialog box also lets you set the number of days your history is recorded). Click OK when you're finished. To clear the browser's history of your file downloads, press -J to open the Downloads window and click Clean Up. Firefox clears the download history automatically if you choose Tools > Options > Privacy > Download History and select either Upon successful download or When Firefox exits in the drop-down menu next to 'Remove files from the Download Manager'.

◙ Opera
1. To clear SINGLE history items. Press CTRL+ALT+H to view the history list. Find a history entry and right click it and choose DELETE.
2. To erase all entries from the History list, choose Tools > Preferences > Advanced > History, and click Clear next to 'Visited addresses'. To wipe out the browser's download history, press --T, right-click a downloaded file, and click either Remove transfer or Remove all finished (to clear all completed downloads from the list).

Delete Cookies, Delete Files, Clear History buttons.

Go to your toolbar:

1.Tools
2. Internet Options
3. In the "Temporary Internet Files" section of the General Tab select Delete Files
4. At the Delete Files dialogue box click "Ok"
5. You can set your Internet Options to delete files every day or every three days depending on your choice.

it takes more than just clearing history
which is what most people think is the solution
do the following and you will have no worries
open your browser
click tools up top
click internet options
click clear history
change the days to keep history to 0
click delete files
click settings change the amount of disk space to use to 1mb
click ok
now click the content tab
click auto complete
click clear forms
then where it says use autocomplete for uncheck all the things you dont want your browser to store.
that way you wont have to keep going back and clearing things out. good luck

Go to tools up at the top of your page, click on internet options, hit clear history, also click on delete files, click into that small box (top left), click ok, click on delete cookies, click ok and click ok again to get out of the entire box. Your computer will do it's thing and then you're good to go.

Or just, click tools, internet options then delete cookies, delete files (and offline ones too), and clear history

You can get rid of cookies by going to my computer, Local Disk C, Documents and Settings, (whatever you are signed in as), and then cookies. This will get rid of recently visited sites.

go to internet optiions in control panel and close to the bottom it says history just click clear history and if u set it to 0 it will automatically delete it when you close the browser
