Crawley area: yes! We have a collection once every two weeks. The council picks up just about everything, except for glass. There are special bins for coloured and clear glass at the local tip, and those are supplied by the council also.

Belfast has the Kerbside Recycling Bins which are great as they take plastic bottles, glass, paper and card and clothes. They work well in the city where people have limited space for wheelie bins. This service is provided by the charity Bryson House and the bins are collected every week. I cant understand the number of people living on my street who dont use theirs. I only have to put my wheelie bin out about once a month (I'd do it less but it starts to stink!).

The different district councils have different re-cycling policies. Some have just one recycling bin for paper and plastic, others have different bins for paper, plastic and organic waste.

I still love my 'Kerbie' though!

Yes, Mendip District Council, Somerset, provide this service, as do Yeovil Council, also in Somerset, and the latter even provides all the necessary bins. Both these councils provide waste food recycling as well as the usual, paper, glass, tin/foil, etc. So thumbs up to Somerset!
