does anyone know about wedgwood????
I have a box, with Unicorn insignia, it says wedgwood & co.ltd. England.....What I have researched is that normally the wording is arched underneath the unicorn.....on my box it is straight across.Which suggests to me it is dated from 1908+. I would think it is dated 1956+ but it says nothing of everware or wacol. there is also what looks like 350/B carved into the bottom ( obviously while it was still wet). and there is also a J in the paint used to paint the box randomly on the bottom as well..... The box itself is beautifully painted with flowers and is 8 1/2 by 10 1/2 cm. Any ideas on the date if nothing else!! I am extremely curious. I found a website that dates wedgwood it is

I tried all kinds of word combinations with "wedgewood" in different Yahoo searches. I finally hit upon "wedgewood marks" (include the quotation marks in the Yahoo search box). It yielded 197 results. Most of those on just the first page look very promising. Even though you have provided a much better than average description, it is hard to provide definitive information on your piece of wedgewood. I suggest you do the same search and explore the results yourself. I'm betting that you will quickly find lots of relevant information about your piece.

By the way, this is my favorite website for identifying and valueing all kinds of china, pottery, and glassware:

Good luck with your search for information.

According to Ancestry "English: habitational name from Wedgwood in Staffordshire. " Names were often spelled a few different ways in the past, a lot of people couldn't read or write at all, so the names were written down however they sounded, and very annoying it is too when you are trying to track your ancestors down.
