Ok, i am very new to the world of networking and have a few questions, please try to make anwers as easy to follow as possible.
I just connected to the internet via DSL broadband, I have a box that sits there with and areial and i have a wireless card on my laptop and all i know is i have intenet.
I also have a desktop that connects the internet via the wireless usb thing.
Do i have a modem? if so where is it, is it possible for me to get a wireless home network going to share and let the two pcs talk to each other? If so how to i do it - please a simple guide .
Is there anywhere i can go find stuff about networking and learn to become one of those people that can set all cool stuff up.

Thanks

Yes you have to have a modem in order to use dsl. That original box with the aerial thingy you were on about sounds like you have a combined modem/router. Using this you can make your laptop and the desktop "talk" to each other and create a small network for file transfers, multiplayer games, etc.
As always it's better to point you in the right direction than type it all out here for you so check out this link:

Microsoft makes it fairly straightforward. Good luck.

set up a on the spot router contained in the abode see you later as you're subscribed to DSL or Cable information superhighway. Then set up a on the spot computing gadget card into the computing gadget or use a on the spot USB gadget. Linksys makes a superior product for such applications. only make certain you setup the WPA safe practices good factors. there is no favor to grant away your information superhighway connection for loose. change the generating unit defaults too for the admin password adn router call.
