I know the typical time for ovulation to occur is once a month around 14 days after the start of your period, but does anyone know from personal experience if it is possible to ovulate more than just that one time a month?

Yes it can happen but within 24 hours of each other. See website below.
Also I wanted to agree with the previous answer and let you know that not all women ovulate on the 14th day and not all women have a 28-day cycle. As a matter of fact most women don't. The time between your ovulation and period is called the luteal phase and that is what depends on how long your cycles are. For example if a woman ovulated on her 14th day and her luteal phase was only 12 days then her whole cycle would only be 26 days. If a woman ovulated on her 12th day but had a luteal phase of 16 days her whole cycle would be 28 days. Each woman's luteal phase adn ovulation date can differ making different cycle lengths. But most of the time once you find out how long your luteal phase is (you can do this by charting your BBT....I have also included a website for more info on that) it will only differ slightly each time usually a day or two.

You only ovulate once per month, but not all women ovulate 14 days before their period, even if they have a regular cycle. There are medications to help you ovulate earlier in your cycle, but nothing to prolong ovulation or make you ovulate multiple times. You are better off learning when your ovulation time is and have sex on the two days prior to ovulation and on the day of ovulation.

You only ovulate once a month, unless you have a very short cycle, less than 28 days, then you would ovulate 2x. You usually ovulate 14 days before you get a period.

I happen to be one of those people, this is why it is so hard for my dr to predict due dates for any of my babies. The due date of the child we are expecting does NOT correspond with that of any typical ovulation cycle. I still think they are off, but due to the longer ovulation cycle, Dr thinks he's right... so yes, it is very possible and very very hard to determine unless you are pregnant and the doctor can see how far along the baby is in gestation which will then determine when you ovulated. Hope that helped a bit.

Of course it is possible. They say that some fraternal twins are from a mother ovulating twice .....most fraternal twins are not conceived at the exact same time....there is even documented proof of fraternal twins having 2 different dads. PS: for those answers you got that say that you can only ovulate once : THEY ARE WRONG. It doesn't happen often but it does happen.
