I was wondering weather the nintendo wii will work with an ordinary TV (not a widescreen). I am gettin a widescreen in january so I will probably have to use it on a normal TV until then that is if it works on an ordinary non widescreen tv.

All the new systems are designed with the High Def TVs in mind but they all work fine on regular TVs. The graphics just look as they normally would. So once you get the newer TV you should see some serious improvement in the graphics.

It's just a way for them to try and get people to buy the better TVs and make the gaming industry improve upon itself. It's all a game of money. Craziness!

Although the next-next gen systems, Nintendo's Wii, Sony's Playstation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 are designed with high def tv's in mind, they should all play just fine on a regular tv.

It should work with most t.v's unless they don't have the necessary plug ins for the cord and the red yellow white cables.
Also The Wii isn't even HDTV compatible yet, maybe in a few years though. I'm sure that many launch Wii games wil be widescreen and progressive scan compatible!

hope this helps! (:

it will work on any tv you have. it will show up as widescreen on any tv and by the way, the people who said it will be high def is wrong Sony and Microsoft are only high def and the Wii is the o0nly widescreen.
