Baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate) contains carbon but it is not condsidered an organic coumpound. Baking powder is also not an organic compound. I'm not sure what the chemical compositon of flour is but I don't think its organic either.

If you're looking for organic compounds around the house, alcohol is one.

Although Baking soda contains Carbon it is not considered as an Organic compound. Because an organic compound should primarly be an covalent compound but baking soda is an ionic compound. There are lot more differences that makes baking soda an inorganic compound

aa))) Baking soda is a pure chemical and NOT organic.

bbb))) Flour is an organic substance but may or may not be organic depending on the grain used for making the flour. If the grain has been grown organically it is organic.

Baking powder is also a chemical compound and not organic.

Every compound that contains carbon (C) is considered organic except CO, CO2 and the salts of H2CO3 acid. Baking soda is such a salt (NaHCO3) so it is not organic.

Flour is a polysacharide and it is an organic compound

baking soda is inorganic (NaHCO3).

Baking powder is a mixture of baking soda and cream of tartar (potasium acid tartrate) (KHC4H4O6). This compound is organic.

So baking powder (NaHCO3 + KHC4H4O6) is a mixture of inorganic and organic compounds.
