sorry dude..but if she doesn't so anything else you might want to cancel...my suggestion for next time, count 28 from the day she starts her period. then you'll have an idea of when the next time sh'll get it so you can plan around it.

You mentioned the get away was for some long over due love making, well if she's on the rag you wont be doing much of that.
People may tell you it's ok to hit it during that time, let me tell you from experiance DONT DO IT. The mess is ridiculous and not at all worth it.
I would postpone the weekend till maybe next week, I know it's not all about SEX but being that these little get-aways dont happen all the time I would want to make the most of it.

Definately don't cancel! Instead, buy some nice scented candles, a good massage oil, and whatever your wife's favorite flowers are. Bonus points: a nice new cozy (read: non-sexual) piece of sleepwear or robe for that Four-Star treatment.
Take your well-laid plans as an opportunity to spoil her, and show her how crazy you still are about her -- no ulterior motives. You may not get that "instant gratification" you'd hoped for this weekend, but trust me... she'll remember it for a long, long time. A little extra attention now will reciprocate tenfold in the future!

Keep the reservations. She is aware that you know about the "circumstances" and you can use the opportunity to get some extra points by making her feel like you just wanted to spoil her for an evening without the expectation of sex. In doing this maybe she'll be so impressed that she'll want you to "earn your wings". It's a great way to make you look like an even more sensitive and loving husband. While you're there pour on the attention with a great body massage and lots of pampering. I'd love it if my husband did that.

Unless you and her are in to making love while she is on her period then I would say cancel. If you decide to go for it. Use the shower or a towel on the bed. If I was her I would prefer you reschedule for a better time of the month so we wouldn't have to worry about the mess. Remember that the cycle is usually every 28 days give or take a day or two. Plan to go in a couple of weeks instead. Very good that you thought to do this at all. Good luck

You low-life. Did you ever hear about talking to your wife. An excellent opportunity to take a walk and hold her hand and buy her an ice cream cone and talk about the days when you were dating and fun things. No bringing up any old laundry. You'll get a lot more miles out of this than you can imagine by treating her like a woman and spoiling her a little. Keep it in your pants for a couple of days, geeeeeeeze,

Tough situation.
My boyfriend made reservations for my birthday and he told me to pack because we're going on a trip, I told him that I had my period and he looked at me like SO WHAT?
We didn't have sex but the time spent together cuddling and stuff made me do something even special after the fact.
I really think that she would appreciate it.
Also...if you guys want to try to keep a track of when she's going to get her period or ovulate, I've found that this site works well, very well for me. www.mymonthlycycles.com

I think it's great that you planned this get away, but yes, you should cancel untill she is off her period. Since she doesn't "know" about this, neither of you have lost "anything. After she's off her period, get another room
and maybe have a vase of flowers, (doesn't have to be roses) with a note that say's,"Just because I love you."
Everything should go great after that. Good luck

Why is sex out of the equation? For a woman, it feels better during your period and it makes the crampyness go away. Sex should NEVER be out of the equation. So, no...you should not cancel.

No way ! Since it's impossible to get her pregnant, just put a towel under her and go at it ! You'll of course just have a little more clean up than usual. Lol. Enjoy ! The sex should not be ruled out just cause of a little messyness.
