I have had terrible sciatic nerve problems since the beginning of my pregnancy. I am almost 15 weeks now. I have not been eating like I normally do, however, I feel I have been eating enough! I have not been very physically active because it is difficult. When I got pregnant I was overweight by about 75lbs. Well today I weighed myself and I lost 23 LBS. What is causing this? Do you think everything is okay? I go and see the doc next week!

I lost weight through my entire pregnancy. After I delivered, I was down nearly 40 pounds total....and my baby was 8 lbs 14 oz, and excellent health! It's probably because you are eating healthier and if you normally have a slow motabelism (however it's spelled) it can actually speed up with the hormones and vitiamins you take. As long as the baby is growing (and your belly is) it is usually fine...lol and a blessing! I actually was two sizes smaller the day I got home from the hospital than the day I found out I was pregnant. Good Luck!

make sure you are taking your vitamins and eating a healthy diet. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and what you have been and not been doing. Make sure you are honest and express your concerns and ask all the questions you have. This really isn't the best place to get medical questions answered. If you have a good OBGYN there should be a nurse available to answer questions at the office so call. Good luck and I hope you and the baby are healthy and happy.

it depends if u have been having a lot of morning sickness--that normally causes u to loose weight during ur first tri-mester. when ur in ur second tir-mester the morning sickness should be fading away and u should start gaining a bit of weight. if ur almost 4 months u shoudl of atlest gain 5 pounds. Ask ur dr. and advise them of how much weight u have lost--they will advise u on what to do or what to eat to gain weight...good luck

Its pretty normal to have weight loss when you are over weight having a baby. Your body is changing your eating habits and taste will change. Dont worry unless your doctor tells you ther is a problem. If you were that over weight it is probably a good thing.

SOME WOMEN GAIN WEIGHT RIGHT AWAY AND OTHERS LOSE WEIGHT DURING THEIR FIRST TRIMESTER BUT I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD GO AND SEE YOUR DR. THEY CAN PROBABLY GIVE YOU SOMETHING THAT CAN GIVE YOU MOR OF AN APPETITE.
