I think the defections from the Democrats in recent years, both by voters and politicians, are an indicator the party has moved too far left and that they no longer represent the values of their core. The leftists are wandering from the pack with some dissenters making their way back.
But addressing your analogy, hopefully we are more sympathetic than nature. Because in nature if you don't fight with the pack, you don't get protection from the pack.

its similar as like we try this throughout the time of practice of martial arts , giving sounds at the same time as scuffling with isn't something yet to assemble the body power altogether and remodeling that power in fingers is significant element. . also giving sounds makes enemies to distract their concentration ....
