Check out the Birmingham Mail on Thursdays - they have the best selection of jobs for Birmingham and the Midlands that I've found. As for getting jobs...I'm not doing too great on that front myself! Have you had your CV reviewed professionally? It will cost you but it might be worth it in the long run. Is there someone you can trust who has the experience to proof read your cover letters and offer advice on that front? Maybe check out your local job centre for advice on that score too, it might not be super helpful but at least it's free at point of use.

The only other thing I can suggest, since you're new to applying for jobs maybe you don't have a lot of experience - perhaps revise your ambitions a little and apply for assistant HR manager or trainee positions.

Good luck!

HR is human resources...
I think that if you aim for an HR manager job, then you are looking in a very inappropriate place...
If you are good, then big companies will "headhunt" you, but if you are not so well known, then maybe you could just look in the papers or on line for an HR assistant position or an HR officer, depends on the company's way of naming the job. Then, you can promote to a manager's position.

There are headhunters who specialize in HR field as well as lots of jobs on websites. You may want to find someone who can review your resume/CV to ensure its as good as it can be. And if you have experience, go back to any HR contacts you have had in other companies and use those folks for networking into other jobs. friends usually have friends you know! Good Luck.
